Ratchadamnern vs Lumpinee

Saenchai Sor Kingstar
Written by Varut

The promoters of Thailand's Lumpini and Ratchadamnern stadiums are planning a grand event featuring top fighters of the two stadiums including Lumpini’s Saenchai Sor Kingstar who will fight two opponents from the rival stadium.
Lumpini is scheduled to host the event on Friday July 3 with promoter Wirat Wachiraratanawong as its chief organizer. His Ratchadamnern counterpart will be the famous Songchai Ratanasuban, who earlier announced that the Lumpini promoters are free to choose any of his fighters to match up with their fighters.
Saenchai, often regarded as the number one muaythai fighter of the present time, will face a historic challenge as the highlight of the event is the “2 vs. 1 bout” of him and two Ratchadamnern veterans, Petchboonchu F.A. Group and Saketdao Petphayathai.
Numerous other bouts of prominent fighters from the two stadiums are also planned, including the matches of Thongchai Tor Silachai vs. Kangwanlek Petchyindee, Rungruenglek Lukprabaht vs. Kaimukdam Sit-O, Norasing Lukbanyai vs. Palangpon Piriyanoppachai, Pornsaneh Sitmonchai vs. Wutthidet Lukprabaht, Nong-O Sit-O vs. Singthongnoi Por Telakulom, Mongkolchai Petchsupapan vs. Petchtawee Sor Kittichai, and Sam-A Tor Ratanakiat vs. Pakorn Sakyothin.
The event is aimed at boosting the muaythai industry during a downtrend period caused by the economic crisis and political turmoil, among other factors.

Jamaica

Thailand’s leading muaythai fighters like Buakaw Por Pramuk and Yodsaenklai Fairtex will fight in Jamaica on Friday June 26.

Six Thai fighters, including two-time K-1 winner Buakaw, Contender Asia’s Yodsaenklai, former Lumpini and Rajadamnern stadiums champion Anuwat Kaewsamrit, and K-1 champion Kaoklai Kaennorsing, will fight in the Champ of Champs event in the Jamaican city of Montego Bay this Friday.

Wowww .. That will be one hell of a tournament. Btw Kaoklai was at one of our event, (August 2008)..no, he did not fight but accompanied his boxer , and I I think he kindda like the crowd here.

The secret unfold

Why do people join KawanBoxx? We have our reason, it may be different but we know only Kawan Boxx can give us the chance to be close to the action. Most of us do not have what it takes to be a Nak Muay, but Muay Thai, it is more than 2 Nak Muays enduring pain to be better than their opponent.

All Nak Muays have to agree, the promoter (event organizer) is the most difficult and challenging job in this industry. If you are a reputable promoter (organizer), finding boxer; any boxer of any ranking, will not be a problem.

There are not many promoter of such level in Malaysia, well may be one... two? I don't know, I just only know one!!

The person everybody envy and every body want to be. Wannabe? Well it takes more than passion and hard work to achieve what he had achieve right now.

I think I know a better way of making money out of Muay Thai, get close to the guy, learn his trade, analyze his mistakes and sell the secret to those wannabe.

Secret no 1:

You must be healthier than the nak muay. Strong, with a healthy heart and have a good blood circulation; can convince people, having bright white teeth is an asset and can control your eye blinking according to the person you make eye contact with, is an extra mark.

Secret no 2:

Buy this book when it is available...maybe in 5 years time...but...
There are better and faster way to achieve whatever Muay Thai dream you have...just join Kawan Boxx!!

My saturday

Sending a copy of DVD to Thailand & a t-shirt to Kelana Jaya ( wear at your own risk!, ha ha!!)

I do received question on why I don't do BoxxWarriors logo anymore on my T-shirts.
Sometime we just over grow our objectives. I got friends and some of them members of KawanBoxx, who are from other gym, so I don't think it's appropriate for them to wear other gym logo.

Hasem and Akhir drop by HQ, first time Muay Thai fan register them self at my 'homely' office.

Both will soon be members of Ampang Gym.. T-shirt, mag and DVD (special edition) , the basic starter pack.

The two best friend were the first to offer to be part of KawanBoxx crew for Z-1.. buat apa pun kami boleh bang!

View from my work station (beside the window), I plan to have all those awesome pictures taken by my shooters on my wall.. wall to wall !!

Where can I fight ?

My name is Aiman Nazmin, I'm 9 and I want to be in the ring. Is there avenue for me to have my first fight?

Aiman was not the first to approach me, I just lost count. I think many more have sought Sanusi and Mr.Zahari assistance.
.
There are many new opening of Muay Thai gyms of late, even those close sometimes back, are hanging back their punching back (betul tak Bobo) . More and more new students are enrolling.

Even gym whose instructors are from other martial art are claiming they are Muay Thai gym.

The future?

People like Aiman will still find it difficult to enter the ring.

The problem is Muay Thai promoter/event management does not flourish at the gym rate. The existing event managements have reached certain level that they can't accommodate new comers in their fightcards. Boxxevent have turn into world class Muay Thai event managements.

Perema will cater for top local Nak Muays. The Kelantanese promoters with their own pool of pengocoh(s) (nak muay).

What happen to the rest of the state?

Persatuan Tomoi Negeri Kedah(PTNK), which just concluded their meeting have decide to draw a comprehensive calendar for it activities next year. Kedah State Muay Thai Association (PTNK) will have their own tour called Liga Tomoi Negeri Kedah. It will help to unearth new talent and generate interest among associated clubs.

Kedah Muay Thai Association (PTNK) is the most active MT Association in the country, having successfully holding event in other state such as in Penang, Kuala Lumpur and Kelantan, the homeland of Muay Thai in Malaysia.

Syabas to PTNK.

For Aiman, his Muay Thai career is still an uncertainty, he is not from Kedah. If you ask PTNK’s secretary En.Sanusi, I know his answer...nanti aku adjust!

Basically mean, he can squeeze a few outside talents. So Aiman,
tunggu tahun hadapan boleh? (can you wait for next year).. in the mean time , practice hard and learn a bit of Kedah dialect, it may useful one day.

feel the blaze

The actual fight will be in October 2009. Have the challengers know who they are?
How do we pick them?

The challengers some have been decided by a panel of professionals, base on their performance throughout 2009. There will be 4 categories of weight class. Basically they will be fighting someone their own size. There are few more slots to fill, making the fight as even as possible.

Why no qualifying... just say we try to avoid a one night wonders.

I just stumble upon this young nak muay website.
A great fighter, well the www carry Z-1 logo and a few of Boxx Event posters..
Check for this young lad news here or http://muaythaitours.jimdo.com/

I will post about him soon.

Jarupa

Wira dari Kulim ( Amin, Q dan Fauzan) Mid Valley 13 Julai 2009.

Jarupa ? siapa Jarupa ?

“No problem” sambil membuat sesuatu yang mengejutkan.

“haha….”

Meraikan kemenangan Fauzan @ Lotus KL.

From small now, big and big.

BTW bila Father's Day ? Sebab Q mengingat aku how all father should be.

Happy Father's Day!

Q Eikkasit next match will be on 26 June 2009, Kuantan, Pahang. He will fight Pantamit (M-150). For the record Q Eikkasit beat Pantamit twice before. (Pantamit is most probably 5-6 kilo heavier than Ekkasit.)

© 2009 BoxxTomoi.blogspot.com

KL Muay Thai Open Result

All matches end in 5 round (POINTS) except for Fauzan, who win in round 2:

Match 1: Ahmad Fadzli (TLDM) lost to
Faizal "Anak Tiong" (Kelantan)

Match 2 : Kamarul "Pakcu Gamas" beat
Lim Chee Leong (TNT)

match 3 : Mohd Amin Tuan Tong (Boxx Warriors) lost to
Mat Ropi- not his real name (Sasalon)

match 4 : Fauzan Zabidi (Box Warriors) beat
Nik Hafizi (Kuda Merah)

Match 5 : Ismail Ramli (Tigers) beat
Nik Md Azizi (Kuda Merah)

Match 6 : Ediey (Boxx Warriors Ampang) beat
Wadi (Sri Payung/TLDM)
Fight in brief:

1) Faizal "anak Tiong" was voted as the best boxer of the night. (pic with his golden glove)
2) MT's Ismail vs Nik Azizi PDRM fight was the mos thrilling fight of the night. Ismail inherit the talents of both his brothers Hafiz and Hashim but he is better than both of them combine!. Watch this boy.
3) Emcee did make a good intro about Fauzan (Fauzan fan I guess) .. Peninju tersohor masa ini ..Fuzan Zabidi dari Boxx Warriors
4) Ediey and Wadi was a friendly and tame fight.
5) I still can't figure out why a 6 match fights took too long to finish? ... bureaucracy !

A good improvement compare to the first series.

MUAY THAI DILEMMA IN MALAYSIA

People in Malaysia think Muay Thai is violent and create violent society. People in Malaysia think Muay Thai should not be practiced in Malaysia because they come from Thailand (I wonder where does golf come from but it is played here). Sponsors think Muay Thai fans have no buying power because this sport is only watched by the villagers. Sponsors think Muay Thai fans only available in Thailand. Sponsors think Muay Thai only attract “low class” people … but one thing for sure, whoever thinks that way, obviously they have never been to a Muay Thai tournament, they judge Muay Thai only from one angle and that is from NEGATIVE angle point of view. This year, I had the opportunity to go to three events. The first one was a national level martial art competition held in Kulim. They rented a BIG hall as the venue. And guess what, the number of spectators were around 200 people….and one thing I must tell you, the entrance is free (obviously because the participants are amature, so the organizer don’t have to pay any cash prize money and also…THEY HAVE BIG SPONSORSHIP).The second one was another finale of another martial competition, despite big budget allocated and presence of the minister … the number of contestant outnumbered the audience. The third one was only last weekend. It was a promotion held in Kulim by a GIANT telco company. When I arrived at the venue, they had about 5 small canopies and 1 BIG canopy with a estimated number of 50 staffs. The best thing was, only four people or I would rather say four potential customers at the venue and one of them was me.I asked one of the staffs, “How much do u spend for this promotion event?” and he replied around 5 – 6 thousand Malaysia Ringgit. And I said to him that I can guarantee a minimum number of 1,000 people will come and visit their promotion with that amount of budget. He smiled and asked me how am I going to do that. Well, I said to him its simple….”I just bring in my boxing ring and provide local pro Muay Thai fighters to fight at your promotion venue and its free for public to watch, I can guarantee you, you will need the traffic police to control the traffic flows”. To my surprised, he commented that they might not get the right crowd for their products and services. I asked him again, have u ever watched a Muay Thai fight in Malaysia? He just kept quiet….and again I felt a bit disappointed with the way people judge Muay Thai in Malaysia. Majority don’t realize that Muay Thai fights in Malaysia attract all level of people…just name the kind of people and they are there. School childrens, university students, teachers, engineers, doctors, lawyers, engineers, expatriates, c.e.o.s….just name it. But of course, in order for you to have this large number of crowd, proper marketing and promoting plan must be implemented. And why do Muay Thai fights attract people? Simple because they are real and the fight is full of spectacular action.Daniel Mashamaite, a boxer from South Africa fought four times in Malaysia. During his last fight in Malaysia he said I surely have big sponsorship in my pocket because I organize a lot of tournaments in a year and there are always big crowd watching. He was surprised when I said that for Kedah International Muay Thai Championship the sponsorship amount that I managed to get after begging was not more than 30,000 Malaysia Ringgit when I have more than 4,000 paid crowd and 1,000 free passes (the audience paid 13 ringgit ticket…you don’t have to calculate how much we made, because how much do u think is the cost to organize an international event? ). Just imagine how many people can I attract if the entrance is FREE…but if I were to do that, who is going to pay for the cost of organizing?Sponsors will surely get maximum mileage if they sponsor Muay Thai event, that I can guarantee. Sponsor will not only get return in terms of branding mileage, they can even generate cash sales in return by sponsoring Muay Thai event, that I can also guarantee 100 % (but sorry guys, cant tell you the method…well, I can tell you how but I am afraid I have to kill you after that ) . The problem is, most of the decision maker, turn down our proposal just because he or she doesn’t like Muay Thai (or maybe our proposal is not convincing….hmmm…I will improve on that).A conversation I had with an officer of a State Government owned company….she said they are unable to sponsor Muay Thai event because Muay Thai is not related to their company but she also said “but we can sponsor GOLF” … huh ??? is golf related to a state government company when the company’s activity circling around the development of the state? Well, I guess they sponsor golf because their bosses play golf .. poor you Muay Thai.BOXX is going to operate a Muay Thai centre soon. We are targeting school children to participate and we plan to charge them between 2 – 5 malaysia ringgit a month (in order to cover the operational cost … don’t laugh, ok). I am expecting the majority of the school children who turn up will be the kind of “aggressive children”. The non aggressive might choose piano class instead (maybe these aggressive boys” will go to piano class too…will they?). When these aggressive children turn up for training at .. let say 5 pm .. they will not straight away start punching and kicking. We are gong to organize a 15 minutes informal classes on anti smoking, anti drug, anti crime and all those positive classes. The speakers will come from various related government agencies ( I hope they support this effort). The speakers will sit among these boys and tell them stories about the bad thing about smoking, drug etc… (they will run away if we conduct the class in a formal way, that’s for sure because I would run away too). We might even get an ex drug addict to relate his experience to there boys. These classes will be conducted from time to time. My prediction is, after few years, these boys will still be “aggressive boys” because the aggressiveness is already in them but they will be equipped with knowledge. We hope to instill positive values in these boys through Muay Thai training and all those classes. What I am trying to say is…. YOU CAN USE MUAY THAI AS A TOOL TO CREATE A GOOD CITIZEN…GOOD PEOPLE. Only if you are not negative towards it (because I don’t think the boys will attend just an anti smoking or anti drug classes). No matter what, no matter how big the obstacle is, we … at BOXX EVENT will never surrender. We, with the support from all of you with continue with our struggle to position Muay Thai to where it should be …Last but not least, I would like to thank everybody who has been supporting Muay Thai activities in Malaysia and please continue visiting this blog because it is also a prove that Muay Thai has big fans all around the world.

Regards,
ZAHARI AHMAD RAZALI
